The project included the renovation of a 130 sq.m. ground-floor retail space and its conversion from a clothing store into a car rental store and backoffice. The space is located in Syngrou Avenue, at a very central location, at the corner of Syngrou Avenue and Ath. Diakou Street. The project was commissioned by company AUTO 365, and due to the scale of works a small-scale building permit was issued to cover both works on the façade and the interior of the space.
The architectural program was developed in collaboration with the company's team and essentially includes both the store area and the office area. The new layout consists of two spaces of 70 sq.m and 50 sq.m. Around the perimeter, the storefront windows are replaced, and two new entrances/exits are created—one on Syngrou Avenue and another on Ath. Diakou Street.
For the store area, the design team considered both spatial constraints (columns, irregularly shaped areas, etc.) and the functionality of the space through the lens of new technologies in the sales sector. According to research, 90% of customers looking to buy or rent a car have already selected a model before visiting the store, and a large portion of customers use tablets, computers, or phones for their purchases.
Aiming to redefine the typical seller-buyer experience, three distinct zones are created, organized in a circular layout around the stores central column:
A lounge area (for travellers, visitors, families to relax)
A self-service desk area (mainly focusins on smartphones and tablets)
A classic front desk area (for the check-in and out)
The office space is arranged with access from Ath. Diakou Street and includes staff restrooms, offices, a small kitchen, and a meeting room.
